In June 2003 Van Den Berg Products HK Ltd. was formed to become the official buying office for Van Den Berg Products B.V. in Holland. Hong Kong, the heart of Asia and gateway to China, was the obvious location for the buying office, enjoying the advantages of Hong Kong’s well-developed infrastructure and services. Our experienced, professional and multi-lingual team has expanded rapidly and in April 2006 the office moved to its current premises at the 16th floor of Nam Wo Hong Building in Sheung Wan. Sourcing Being close to the source allows our buyers in Hong Kong to continuously screen the market for new products, monitor developments and detect trends at an early stage. Our buyers visit all major tradeshows in the region or source products direct from the supplier’s showrooms and factories. All samples are ordered though the Hong Kong office where they are tested and checked by our Quality Control Engineers before being sent to our Head office in Holland. Production supervision From the moment an order is placed, our team maintains daily contact with the factory. We check and control the artwork, manuals and rating labels, which are sent to us by the Head Office in Holland and we ensure the correct safety certification is available, check and monitor production schedules, book shipment and handle documentation. Since we maintain close relations with our factories, we are able to deal with problems when they occur and strive to be as flexible as possible with last minute requests from our clients. Quality Control Quality and safety are the most important aspects of our products and our team of Quality Control Engineers continuously travels through China visiting factories. Factories are visited before production to check working standards and safety norms. During production our engineers are present to ensure the final product is made to our specifications before the goods are shipped. Sales Although initially started as a buying office, due to the success of our product lines in Europe, sales are also expanding from Hong Kong to include other countries in Asia and the Pacific region.
